theres a little white spec in the inside of my lens it does show up in footy how do i get it out? is the cam hard to take apart the front part?

If you take the lense hood, you know where it says sony video and it has the tread size? Thats only a sticker. If you gently peel that off and not rip it off(so you can reaply it later) you'll find a bayo mount type lense cap inside.Now this is the only scary part. The holes are small rectangles if you use a knife and miss your gonna scratch the lense.What I did was I used two old pens minus the ink ends and just rotated untill mine popped out. And when you want to put it back in just twist the other way..I hate dust

I used a razor blade for that part. I just pointed the razor down and found a lil gap in the sticker, and just removed it.

mmm, i had no idea it worked like that. I took mine apart yesterday, and got some shit out thats been annoying me since april.

If there's dirt behind that second lens (VAP Unit) there's nothing you can do. Behind the VAP is the lens assy and of course multiple elements inside that. All can be reached other than inside the VAP. It's a sealed unit. The Protective lens and the front of the VAP are the only ones you can access at home. Complete disassembly is required for anything deeper. Sorry guys

when your at the rotating stage...how far are you supposed to rotate it....and what direction do you turn it if to take it out...im confused since nothing happened when i rotated it in either direction...the lens never popped out.

to the left and it should only just a little you may need to use what ever u used to turn it to pop it out

ya, it's a small rotation. barely put pressure on it, and be ready for it to pop out. It was kind o abrupt and scary for me. Do it over a table with a really soft table cloth or something under you. If somehow the front element pops off the camera towards the ground, you'll be safe.

So i took the front lense piece off and went outside to see if there was still any dirt/dust, which there was..so theres dust and such behind the other lenses...it shows up a lot when filming during sunset....does anybody know how much it might cost to get those cleaned?

Kerry just said that if theres still dust behind that lense that its in the VAP unit.And thats I guess is near or around the CCDS.Not something I'm gonna fuck with
