As some of you may know, I quit working for Streetcorner (City) shortly after the release of their latest video, "WHAT THE F*CK IS A BACHINSKY" (of which I filmed only a small fraction).
The reason for my decision to quit does not stem from a conflict of any kind, and their is continued mutual respect, understanding, and friendship between myself and everyone at Streetcorner. I have simply chosen to walk a more independent route, to work for myself, and produce my own videos again like back in the good ol' days., and from now on if there is going to be a company involved, I will be working WITH the company rather the FOR the company. The first of my projects will be an underground video I will produce and edit and partially film, but this video will be MOSTLY filmed by YOU! All footage sent and used will be compensated for. The video will be distributed world wide and is currently unnamed. The "Mission" behind this video is to give back the same kind of help I've received that has led me to this point thus far. Therefore there will be some minor guidelines for you all to consider. What I'm mostly interested in is footage filmed by you deserving individuals of skaters presently unknown, but good enough as a skater and a person to be given an international spotlight in a professional video. Other than that, the criteria is completely open and I am also open to any ideas and suggestions in regards to the video in any way, INCLUDING the editing and organizational concepts for the parts and montages. I'm not looking for a particular style or look. Nor am I concerned about utter perfection, but creativity is a huge plus! This video will represent what skateboarding really is underneath the surface of an overly competitive industry. The ART of skateboarding is what this is about, along with the people and situations involved behind the scenes. Again, the goal of the video is to help all of those skaters/filmers that deserve it the most, and even almost. This is a "homie" video for all of us to partake in. When it really comes down to it, this is EVERYONES' project. I look forward to support and ideas from anyone interested. Again, footage used WILL be compensated for. The due date for the video will ultimately come down to the amount of support it gets from you all, but is ideally one year from now or less. This should give anyone interested in a full part enough chance to make it happen! I'm definitely excited for this, but i will have to wait for spring to get some more decent footage i dont have much i think is worthy at the moment.

There are tricks you can do sometimes to compensate for the repeated 5th frame that results from most pal to ntsc conversions. They are time consuming and work best for long lens shots with little movement. For example, in "WHAT THE F*UCK IS A BACHINSKY?" there are about 5 shots that were pal originally but converted to ntsc using an algorithm I invented. I'd love to contribute, just dunno if I can.
Does all the sent in footage need to be new? Like, if it was used in a local shop video or something, would you not accept it? Also, do we only submit footage if we're hoping "our" skaters get a full part? Like, if I were to send in 5 clips of a single guy, 5 of another, and so on, could it still have a chance of making it in? Cool idea though, I'll see if I can come up with some stuff to send. edit: Sorry, one last thing. When would the footage need to be in by? Like, if someone I knew was super into this (and super sick), and wanted to possibly put all their footage towards this, could they still have the chance to use all their footage from this year? And same thing sorta applies, could it be re-used footage from a small local video? -------------------- |
