So I am thinking about selling my still cameras and get a video camera so that I don't miss any moments.
It just seems logical to capturing situations at 24p or 60i, instead of trying to capture them on one frame of 120.
So could some people help me out with all of this and break down some ideas for what I should do?

It's not all the moments, it's the decisive one.
And you should buy a D90. Outside of the consumer build quality, it's good.

Screen captures just don't measure up, at least not with anything consumers can afford. In a year or two that might be a different story.
And I don't think the D90 is the new D50. D90's aren't saturating the used market, yet.

Upscaling a 2000x3000 to 7200x9000 is different than going 720x1080 to 2000x3000, and then your resolution is still quite low. I just don't think it's worth it. How much do you like sitting at a computer editing?

As intriguing as videography sounds, I think it is much more time intensive than any of us can comprehend. Not having a computer would make it difficult.
I like your choice in hardcore.
