just put some duct tape over the front one on the mic and keep it on so you can know when your filming if your filming fisheye. so you can still see the back light above the cp check button.

On the vx2000 there is an option in the menu to turn it off. i guess not with the 1000

you are wrong. you have a vx2100 man, not a vx1000.... its NOT the same camera... there not an option to turn it off on the vx1000
