Get the twitch plug-in from video copilot. Apply it to your clip and enable 'slide'. Then go into the properties of the slide effect (it's called behaviour or something I think) and set the RGB split to 100% or less if you like. Play around with other settings as speed and twitches per second. Enjoi!

select your text layer. Go to 'layer' -> 'create masks from text'
This wil create a layer called '... outlines' Inside this layer you will find the masks of each letter of your text.
You can now simply copy these masks onto your film burn layer. I guess you can just delete the outlines layer afterwards

You don't need after effects for this one. You just write the text frame by frame in flash or whatever animating program. A tablet makes things easyer here.

Thats just a mask revealing the text, and the mask is key framed. Very simple effect.

Probably had a photoshop file of the film, and just animated stuff on the side and filled the spaces with video, pretty simple..

I assume you are filming with a camcorder in the range of something like a vx. It's not the best cam to achieve this, but it can be done. You just have to use it in certain situations like filming something far away from behind (not completely lol) a tree.
It's easyer to do with a dslr.

Now since this is the after effects thread it's also possible to fake this look in post. If you watch some of french fred's video's you'll see what I mean. It's not completely the same, but you might find it cool. Just work with masks and apply some lens blur

hi guys, im sure this has been posted a million times but i couldnt find it. im absolutely shit on after effects, and am just wondering if you could help me out real quick. i was just wondering what is the name of the effect with all the small light flashes at 0:50 and the transition at 1:57 with all the colours: . ive seen it used alot in goondaves edits and it looks sooo sick. really appreciate any help!
