Besides San Diego, I haven't heard many good things about the condensed course schools. I personally think it would be a waste of money. You get nothing to fall back on and that eighteen months may or may not be enough for you, ya know? Do you have any experience in filmmaking other than shooting skate videos?
Right on, man! Good luck with those.

I'm currently in pre-production for a film that's going to be partially shot at Octagon Hall, which is this "haunted" property where they housed wounded Civil War soldiers back during the war. Supposedly three people
have died in there and it has been on all these Ghost hunting shows and what not. I went there the other day to get photos to help me on the shot list, and my friend's phone started going crazy shutting on and off. I don't necessarily believe this stuff so....
Anyway, this is also my first film to have an actor who has acted in several feature films and a couple 'blockbuster' feature films. I'm pretty excited, but also pretty stressed/nervous.
Edit: MediocreFilmer beat me to the post. Haha. Good luck! It sucks working with half-ass people.

I feel you. Just take your time on it, and if you need to re-edit or keep editing a thousand times, do it.I'm working on a short action sports edit for the National Film Festival for Talented Youth. Not sure how well its gonna turn out though.
Sick! Is it a popular station or a local station?I just started a 5 month uni project filming a pilot for TV in the UK
--------------------
Just got asked today if I would like to be a judge at a youth film festival in Louisville next month.

You worked in the camera department for that film?! I couldn't find you on IMDb; do you mind if I ask what your position was?I worked on a feature this year called "Here Comes The Boom" w/ Kevin James and Salma Hayek directed by Frank Coraci (Also did Water Boy, Zookeeper and The Wedding Singer), playing a camera man believe it or not hahah but they actually used some of our footage in the final cut too which is going to be cool to see in the theaters. I was drooling the entire 9 days I was on set..
such a cool experience
Also, out of curiosity: Were you only on set for nine days, or is that how long production took place? If that's the total amount, then that is stupid fast!
kyran, i just wanted to say your efforts to make the DSLR filmmaking forum a cooler and more fun experience aren't going unnoticed man! Keep it up!
Thank you so much. That means a ton.

No, I don't mind at all!!
Technically, I was not part of the "Camera Dept" however I was in the film and they used footage from my camera (Had to go through and register with SAG and all). I work for a local MMA company (The Global Fight League) and they were in the movie. They wanted it to simulate our events exact so the camera crew who works for the Global Fight League "Ran Camera" in the movie. I was on the cage for the majority of it, but I also "Operated" the walk down camera too. They used some of our actual walk down footage, and some of our on cage footage in the cut of the film to make it seem more realistic. We used a couple Sony EX1's which is what we use for the actual events too.
So TECHNICALLY I wasn't part of the "actual" camera dept. but I'll be in the credits as a Cameraman for the GFL, and possibly even as a camera op seeing as they used some of the footage off of the camera in the film.
And I was only on set for 9 days, they filmed at several different places in the area for different scenes/"fight events" etc and ours was 9, 14 hour days total.
It was the 1st big budget film I was part of and like I said before was definitely a cool experience to be able to talk to some of the people in it who've been doing this as a career for a while!!
