Alright I know there is already another thread on this but a lot of people have been asking how to make my handle.

I suggest this handle for a camera that is not too heavy; with the shoe mount in the middle.
It only cost like $10 to make everything, with a lot of extra metal. I got all the metal at Coles.
I got two different pieces of metal, one for the actual handle and one for the part that goes in the shoe mount.
The metal I found was like .75 inch wide and like 3 feet long each.

1) First to make the part that goes in the shoe mount I got the thinner metal and cut about .75 inch off (the size of the shoe mount)
and I had to file it just a little bit so it would fit nicely in.

2)Now to get the screw in the shoe piece I drilled it with a metal drill bit, but you have to have it angled all the way around since the screw is angled and you dont want it to be sticking out or it wont fit.
3)I got a screw the right size and I shoe goo'd it in and it doesnt move at all.

4)To make the actual handle part I got the thicker metal and cut 8 1/2 inches off.
5)To make the first bend (the big rounded one) I put it in a vice on a table and just started pounding it with a hammer till it looked nice.
6)Now for the second bend I heated it with a flame for a minute or two so it would bend sharper, put in a vice and hit it till it looked nice. I somehow got it bent perfectly with the viewfinder.

7)Then I spray painted it black cus i thought it looked radd, but thats up to you.
8)Next I got a piece of griptape the same size as the shoe mount and gripped it like i would with a deck, so when you have it screwed on the camera you wont have to have it super tight for it not to move, it wont cause stress on it.

9)Now just get a nut the right size for the screw and put it onnn brooo.
10)For me I got a screw that was too loose so I had to get a spring thing that would put pressure on the nut so it stays.

Enjoy.

haha yesss, thank you for answering mine and others requests, that is such a dope looking handle. as discussed in pm's, it could possibly somehow be made a tad longer for a bescor attachment also, right?

actually, now that i think about it, unless you wanted to go through the effort to make a hot shoe mount on the handle, you could also just buy one of those mounts that screw into the tripod hole stickin out the side so there is a light and a handle. it would make a small panny 3 chip look huge after all the handles, mounts and lights and any other sh*t haha tripod handle/hot shoe mount

i dont think it will effect it too bad but it would definitely effect it. you could have a longer screw and space out the handel from the camera, by making like 2 or 3 extra shoe pieces.
