Boondoggle Throw Away Montage No. 11

Such a damn good video. Was psyched to see you guys are doing a 10 year party for it. Hopefully there's plenty of raging in CJ's honor.
  2. I have access to the SP IG & FB accounts (they weren't originally created by me), I'd be happy to share whatever

    VX1000 history.

I had a phone conversation with him once for probably 30-45min, seemed like a super cool dude... Intelligent and all of that, which I believe is still taboo in skateboarding.

    Lettuce discuss: ogmike the MVP

Big things Mike! When I first saw this I had automatically assumed it was a Blabac shot as he had recently been in Philly. My damn jaw dropped when I saw who shot the cover. Well done sir.
  5. Welcome back to SP. As you may realize, things may look a little different but it's all still here. Things to make note of: I updated the software to the latest version so your display name will be your original user name... I could manually go and update them if necessary If you were a moderator, you may still be one but I'm likely to clean up the extensive list to something reasonable Many forums got merged together to save on wasted scrolling space just to get to AAG While SP was down, Photobucket changed their policy for hot linking photos, so there's bound to be thousands of broken images on here... That's out of my control This new software is way different than the stuff that was used previously, so hang with me as I figure stuff out There's an abundance of pinned topics cluttering everything up... This is an artifact of merging so many forums together and will be a manual process to clean up So what happened to SP? Long story short, I was getting a little bummed on the place as it had been a great collaborative community for nearly 10 years and then went off the rails as a spot for idiots and trolls so when some big bills for overages came in, I said "screw it, shut it off" and let it die. Fortunately over that year and half I received many emails, DM's and even people giving me shit in person about bringing it back. So here's to seeing if we can restore it to a place that fosters learning and all of that stuff. I hope you all enjoy, I'll look forward to seeing what everybody has been up to.

    VX1000 history.

It was an awesome read and I'm glad they gave you guys the proper credit (although the magnitude was understated in my opinion) Here's the article for the lazy ones: http://www.jenkemmag.com/home/2018/07/13/tracing-history-skateboardings-most-famous-camera/

    Jesus Christ. What happened?

Keep it coming dude. I have a broken external drive that would be full of SP gems that I need to get working again.

    Post your username changes

    Sorry for the delay.
  9. I realize there was an issue when the software was updated that it reverted everybody's name back to the ones that they registered with. I have no problem changing them back to whatever they were when the place went down. Just reply to this thread and I'll correct it.
  10. I've never had a problem with mine falling out... Even better to have music on the apple watch so you don't even have to have your phone around.

    Varial Heel - 5 flat 5

Here's a shot from over the break... Also a Q flash got demolished that day, awesome. Is linking from IG kosher? We'll find out.
  12. I feel this video deserves a discussion given the degree of production that went into it given the audience of this site. What are your thoughts on it? I'm still pretty torn. Pros: - Always a Ty Evans fan even if I don't like every last piece of his work, more so in the past few years but I think he's helped push the creative boundaries that at minimum trickles down to dudes that even make your basic vx video - Independent project - everybody that broke themselves off knew that they were gonna get an over-the-top production from Ty and weren't roped into participation via their sponsor. - Self funded... I have a difficult time wrapping my head around how that was possible, especially considering a van and multiple engine failures worked their way into the budget - The skating was pretty insane Cons: - It's re-watchability for me is pretty low... I ordered it and had a few friends over, we watched it once then hit a few select parts again and that was that - Some of the weird imagery scenes went on far beyond how long I thought they would, especially the 360 cam stuff would have been really neat if shrunk down - The transitions were beat to death in Michael Pulizzi's, was impossible to watch again Overall, I'm glad he's still doing what he does

    Jesus Christ. What happened?

Keep posting and replying, it's the only way the place gets going again (although it'll never reach 2005-2010 popularity)
  14. Figured it couldn't hurt to have a roll call and see what everybody has been up to. I've been an old man (older than ever), barely skating but I still keep up with it all. A lot of life hammers in the past few months, got engaged, expecting a baby boy (Dylan) in March, got my MBA from NC State and bought a place in Raleigh to store all of these things, make meatloaf, etc. Hope everybody else is doing well.
  15. Alright so if you guys didn't notice we had some major site issues the last few days that were deeper than I had previously thought; unfortunately to save it I had to pull it from a database backup that was 4 days old... so yeah we lost some posts. My apologies. Just so you know the PM system is broke still, I'm going to just try and give this reload the stress test and let you guys keep beating the crap out of it to make sure it's fine.. I'll keep jamming out on the PM shit. edit april 22 PM system is functional again, let me know if anything else seems out of place... I think it's all covered now.
  16. RU sponcerd by brons? But for real, you’ve been killing it man.
  17. Black.. I was able to work 3 dealerships against each other and get one for under MSRP (which I read isn't easy), they're estimating I'll have it in 4 weeks or so. Durham had a white one on the floor but they weren't budging on the $2k of markup.
  18. Nice! $10 says the 911 gives you less problems than the Cooper.

What the hell have you been up to?

haha no, that died a long time ago. The interest never really picked up. PS: It's okay to sell out, eventually we all do.

    The Flat Earth Video

Let's be honest, did you watch it more than once? I think that's my hangup with it. But part of me thinks that wasn't really his main concern either. Also, you're old.
