  1. So I used to frequent the forums way back way too long ago (we're talking pre-2010 - don't know how I figured out my password). I am looking for a montage a dude made that was created as a memorial for a friend who died. The song was Coldplay - Fix You, and a large part of it was taken up by bombing hills and shit like that. There was a voice over saying "we do it for the love of it, the rush of it, we do it for those who can't do it anymore" or something like that. It was super emotional and rad. I would love to find and watch it/download it if anyone here has been here long enough to have it/reupload it/point me to it. HALP.

  2. So I haven't posted on this board in years and years, and I don't really skate anymore.

I am however looking to buy a camera for filming shows (with very loud bands and very low lighting usually). My first thoughts (using my knowledge from filming skating back in the day and lurking here) were to get a vx2100 since it's low light capability is 1 lux, the lowest of any camera when I was paying attention to this kind of shit.

Is that still the best option? I'm planning to use an external mic and don't want to spend more than $500-600. A friend is selling a vx2100 with a raynox fisheye and broken mic for $450. Is that worth it?

Should I consider a DSLR? I've seen a bunch of people talking about the t2i. How does it do with lowlight? Does it have a mic input?

    Any help is appreciated.

  3. Yeah i can't stand when people ride drops like flat bars. its god damned pointless. some people even go so far as to put bar tape only on the top near the stem. so ridiculous. I'm really used to riding with my hands on the brake hoods of road drops, its the most comfortable position for me so i put some old road drops from a vintage schwinn with the brake levers/hoods still on it. So much better than the flat bars that were on the bike when i bought it.

  4. you have no idea how bad i want to see that video again.

also, anyone remember the one video of the two kids (one of them had glasses) who were skating outside of some office building and the kid with glasses ends up getting hit by the guard or something? there's the part where the guard's following them and they're screeching "help! help!"

is this even a real video or am i just imagining it?

definitely was real and definitely was hilarious.

  5. in most states you can get your license suspended for going 15 over. You're fucked, and definitely getting your license revoked for at least 30 days. tell your parents, they'll find out later and be 100x more pissed.

i got a ticket for going 61 in a 45 when i was 16, went to court. the judge dropped it down to 54 in a 45 so my insurance wouldn't go up. I ended up paying a 75 dollar court fee plus like 100 bucks for the ticket or something i don't remember exactly. expect to be paying a good chunk of money.

  6. Um, I don't know how old you are or what level of education you have reached, but no matter what some eDocumentary tells you, this guy was pretty much the worst figure in American politics for nearly twenty years... it's amazing how he was able to even screw up badly during the John F. Kennedy administration, which lasted only two years. Hell... he's still screwing up... the last I checked, the Cuban embargo didn't work. Not only that, but he's also partially responsible for Viet Nam, the United States' biggest mistake during the Cold War, and for nuclear proliferation during the 1980s -- nuclear proliferation that put the country into a huge deficeit, armed the Soviet Union to the teeth, and is now arming unstable countries in the Middle East to the teeth. It's an enormous mistake to claim that this nuclear proliferation resulted in the collapse of the Soviet Union also.... that shit had been collapsing internally for YEARS.

he wasn't saying he respected the man or liked him. watch the documentary, seriously its one of my all time favorite films. mcnamara repents a ton and shows real sadness over his actions.

regardless i still hope he burns in hell for what he did.
