haha... yoooo FL! yooo etrizz!! Gl2! what do you think changed? yah.. name changes always brought about degradation. I am definitely guilty: like, yah... "let me be more professional and minimalist and change my name to my actual name "VincentP" instead of keeping EasternExposure, which was such an ill username. what about bulletpimp? did Thomas Rollinger have sex yet.... with a girl? i know long.sleeves is touring europe for her music pretty consistently. does old man LaClair post anymore?

    Sva

'skamoe, a filming mod on here, is an SVA student... however, he is highly commitment and has a serious work ethic. Like anything, as mentioned, you get out what you put in. Don't go if you don't plan to work extremely hard from the day you get there until you leave.

    Woodward/lakeowen

Of course... I was a camper for 6 summers or so before I worked there so I'm sure I could return as a counselor if I call Graham, Jack, or Brandon. The skate directors are awesome and have been there forever. Darin can do his thing with his gym shorts and golf cart.

    Progression

I think it's absolutely crucial to be comfortable pushing, ollieing, doing simple grinds, before you move on. So many people get dreadful injuries skateboarding as a result of trying to do absurd tricks before truly learning how to carve a bowl, 50-50 a real ledge or rail, or ollie over and into transition etc. I guess, from my experience, being able to move around well and comfortably on your board--even if the scope of your technical abilities is narrow--is a lot more valuable, fun and sustainable than attempting to go beyond your means in the name of progression. I don't think you can properly progress without an honest foundation. Always good to remind yourself of the simplicities.
  12. Cool. Love those O.G ads. I've skated Nike Sb since the Angus but had stopped for a while until I recently picked up the Koston 1. The shoe feels great and its crazy to think of the last time Koston had a 'first' model shoe. Also has the 'Sb' stitching for what its worth.

I've counseled and instructed at Woodward before (O.G Woodward in PA). Darin doesn't care for me now though because I allowed two non-registered friends to camp out in my cabin amongst the eighteen campers aged 12-16 for a few days. and I wouldn't disagree with you^. Woodward will always be awesome, no doubt, but the place has been swathed by Fuel TV and others. I'm sure, because of financial necessity.

    Transitioning Out Of Skateboarding

Logged on here for the first time in maybe.. a year? Anyway, thought it would be appropriate to make a post here. I've been skateboarding since 2001. Today, I do not travel into NYC every weekend or skate for 10 hours a day through fall, spring and summer. However, I am still a skateboarder. I am especially grateful to have been a part of skateboarding when, in my opinion, its culture was radiating with raw magic! Today, when I am in the mood to view my old Menikmati or Photosynthesis VHS's... I still feel that magic. I don't think that feeling will ever go away. Therefore I am a skateboarder--even if I am not spending as much time as I used to on the board. While today I am almost completely detached from the skateboard industry, and while I am usually found bombing hills and ollieing instead of working on a single trick for hours on end--my relationship with skateboarding is just as real now as it was 5 years ago. For those who know...
