  1. Thanks for bringing this back, Steve! I'm currently taking some time away from college to really push my career. Sold the Vx700, bought a C100 Mark II Anyone know what Kyran has been up to? Looks like he's killing it in LA.
  2. Tascam Dr70d

Yeah what he said^ that'd be a pain in the ass to always have on you. Why not just get an on camera shotgun mic? Rode Videomic Pro or Sennheiser Mke400
  3. want to buy manfrotto 701hdv or mvh500ah flat base only
  4. What Did You Do To/ Get For Your Camera Today?

    Canon 6D. Soon, a Ronin M.
  5. Sony Fx7 Advice

I believe it's this: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=&sku=945000&gclid=Cj0KEQiAlO20BRCcieCSncPlqqMBEiQAOZGMnL5eoMgFME41TLPVDtd0zPqP9JEdaJkfKx_9hkQNFcwaAsT48P8HAQ&is=REG&ap=y&Q=&A=details or something a lot like this.
  6. Sony Fx7 Advice

My boss uses an FX7 and we use it as a wide angle for weddings. It's a decent camera. He also has some attachment that allows him to output the footage straight to an SD card
  7. What Did You Do To/ Get For Your Camera Today?

how are you liking the Ronin?
  8. Any Ronin M Users?

I'm probably going to pick one up myself for more narrative work and possibly for weddings/live events. I'm sure you could incorporate it into skating. There's a new Nike ad out where they pretty much just use a gimbal and it look amazing.
  9. Long Lens Question

I feel you on the 28mm not being wide enough but I'm not sure why the non IS would be a problem. I dont see too many people ever shooting long lens/dslr off of a tripod. Even if you were going handheld you could easily get steady shots by just attaching it to your handle or using a viewfinder.
  10. Long Lens Question

I had the Tamron 28-75. You can get it used for around 300 I think. Loved it.
  11. Long Lens Question

    What's your budget?
  12. D-slr Buyers Advice Thread

Yeah I'll be using the Gimbal for a lot, specifically weddings and other events, maybe a narrative coming up so I think I would put it to good use but on the other hand I recently used a 6D and it was so kick ass. I'm thinking I'll buy a 6D first then just wait for the gimbal.
  13. D-slr Buyers Advice Thread

I have a 60D now and nice glass but I'm looking to add something to my bag. The top two things I'm looking at are a 6D, or Ronin M gimbal. I'm pretty content with the 60D, but I'm definitely looking to go full frame very soon and keep the 60D for a 2nd angle. The Ronin would definitely add to my videos and open up a ton of possibilities but I'm so stuck, anyone have some thoughts?
  14. Cinema / Filmmaking Netjiot

Do exactly what Nick said. Just curious, were you working with the guy at 2:24? I recommend linking up as an assistant with a wedding studio. I shot three weddings by myself and thought I had it down pretty good but working with guys who have been doing it for a while was the best thing ever. Definitely think about all of your shots and how they can add to the mood. The first few shots were way too long, you could have got more establishing shots and threw them in there. You're heading in the right direction! Just watch a ton of wedding films (I recommend Joe Simon's) and study what types of shots he goes for through out the day.
  15. The Film Thread

Kyran actually recommended another school to me when I asked about them. I'm stuck between Cinematography and Editing
