Thanks, and yeah It really is underrated

Yeah, pretty much just made my own "fisheye crop settings" in premiere so that the least amount of width is cropped to get minimal vig, without cropping vertical height(no head cuts). Probably gonna post a tutorial on here sooner or later

    Xtreme Alternitive?

Yeah just get a .3x its your best option besides the xtreme.. as long as you know how to get rid of some vig in post, you can pretty much make it look like an xtreme. Look at my most recent video for an example

Cropped some width in post by using some effects. Will make a tutorial soon for people who use this fisheye and get unwanted vig.

    Dc Montage

Hell yeah that was sick. More people need to consider this setup over dslr's. Only real critique would be to do something to even out that vig

    Hd Or Sd?

@ Don P... agreed, I shoot with an HVX/opteka setup and people have questioned it thinking its an xtreme.

    Hd Or Sd?

Just because the industry is converting to HD doesn't mean you as an individual has to. As long as you just film for fun, get whatever you want. As far as the whole HD vs SD thing goes, I feel as though the only worthy HD setups that can (hardly) compare to vx1 mk1 are the HVX/HPX xtreme, hmc40 fc-e9, and dslr canon 8-15mm. I'm gonna be honest though, what ruins HD filming for me is when people use manybrand fisheye's on dslr's. IMO, the lens is hardly a fisheye, if anything a wide angle and makes stairs/gaps look smaller than using any of the above HD setups. That's not what skateboarding needs. No hate towards any of you guys who use that setup. In all honesty, if you have a perfect working vx1 mk1 setup, keep that shit for as long as possible, because skateboard filming is changing and will never be the same as it once was..

    Panasonic Hvx200 Vs Af100

The ability for interchangeable lenses, and video quality seem to be the only pros in my eyes

    Panasonic Hvx200 Vs Af100

I agree with JaakkoSkates. If you are filming solely skating, there are no benefits. The AF100 lacks power zoom, something that imo, is a necessity for filming long lens skating. It just doesn't look right if you film all your long lens shots with no zooming and just panning. Also, fisheye footage on the AF100 will look very similar to fisheye footage on the gh1/gh2, but looking at your profile, you film with an opteka .4x on the hvx200, which is similar to manybrand fisheyes anyway, so you should be used to that. Not to mention the larger size of the af100 body compared to the tiny fisheye mounted on front-- it will look a little bit akward..
