    nice, first ones better

    Noseblunt

wonder what it would have looked like slow shutter at night? Regardless though its tight, like how the two ledges connect into an S ish shape. Amazing form too, props to the skater

    Jump Ramp

would have been better at dusk/night. oh well.

    Gap Back Tail Pop Out

still seems to be some blur, probably could have underexposed the ambient and cranked the power up to 1/4 or something probably would have been a bit better and enough to still freeze the motion. hes still a bit more centred than he could be if you just panned to the left a bit, and it would be better if he was weraing something bright, seems to get a bit lost. its good though

    Fakie flip

Not too into this one. Only had three tries. Timing a bit early, tried to frame him in the gap in the sky but couldn't do it because I wanted the entire baseball sign in there, but then the colours turned out shit, had to black n white it, so the sign doesn't look that good anyway. If I had time to set flashes up it might have been a tiny bit better, maybe. Feedback appreciated

    Stylus Epic

Dropped my olympus mju ii and now its just a paperweight. Oh well, my keeper rate on these film point n shoots is terribly low anyway. Any general tips for shooting film/point n shoot stuff also appreciated.

Thanks! Something like that is still a bit too big for me. In the market for another 35mm point n shoot that hopefully focuses better though. Film is fun but not knowing if a photo is completely unusable is pretty frustrating at times.

    land on my face

cant really find anything wrong with this, maybe if you could have, if you shot it at a different time where the trees and stuff cast less shadows on the wall it could have been a slightly cleaner? besides that its perfect
  9. Clips I've filmed here n there on n off for a while. Feedback would be appreciated.

    Bump to Bar FS 180

Could do with more space on the bottom and on the left. Are you working with only one flash? Only having half the bush lit up and half blacked out looks a bit sloppy, perhaps you could have readjusted the flash such that it was either completely in the dark or completely lit, looks kind of messy either way. Personally I would have slowed down my shutter speed, made sure the bush wasn't lit up by the flash, and have skater is still lit up and frozen whilst the bush is blurred out from the slow shutter speed, probably would have cleaned up the frame a lil bit and also made the shadows a little less harsh. Also, he shoulda worn lighter colours, but can't really help that haha.

    hella film cameras

is the mju i still available?
  12. Nope, no need to scale the footage up. My camera is 1080 60p and my sequence dimensions are 1440 x 1080 30p (essentially 1080p with the edges chopped off so the aspect ratio is 4:3). Just have to be a little careful when filming to make sure that the skater isn't on the very edge of the frame, though I've rarely had major issues and you can always adjust the frame in premiere if you did mess up. The vig on my fisheye flares quite bad so I do use an overlay, but the overlay is virtually identical in size/shape to the original vig, it's just there to mask the flaring.

Thank you. I believe these are all portra 400.
  14. Olympus em5ii with the lensbaby 5.8mm fisheye, the panasonic kit lens that has the zoom rocker(which I somehow lost), a 20mm f1.7 and a 45mm f1.8, rode videomicro for the mic. Definitely not the best setup for filming skating, filming wasn't my primary purpose for it when I bought it, but it's ideal for keeping your kit compact and great as a travel camera. The in built stabiliser can be useful, and despite dynamic range and sharpness being quite weak in video mode, you can still squeeze some okay quality out of it. There are several similarly priced, but way better cameras for filming skating now. I see, I'll be sure to try that with the warp stabiliser. Pre planning fisheye shots is definitely important, and I don't know if it's just me, but the one they land often ends up being the one thats filmed the worst. Tripod probably isn't feasible at this point but there's still a lot of room for improvement hand held wise. Really appreciate the feedback, thanks!!
  15. Thanks for the comprehensive feedback. Big fan of your stuff. 1 - Thats a really good idea, gonna start doing that 2 - Unfortunately warp stabiliser doesn't work when the sequence dimensions are different to that the imported files (I'm cropping to 4:3 in post). But yeah, definitely get lazy sometimes after filming for a bit and slack off on keeping the camera as steady as possible, and that's usually when they land it. 3 - Should probably switch to manual white balance at all times, sometimes do get lazy. The autoexposure is probably from my lens, which doesn't have a constant aperture but usually doesn't flicker much. Lost that lens so will be investing in a better one soon. The audio levels I manually adjusted afterwards by ear, in camera I just have it set to the minimum, what about it made it sound auto? 4 - Was definitely reluctant to use some of the clips, but had to feature some of the homies, definitely a big trade off. Appreciate the feedback once again, will take into account!
  16. What fisheye are you running on the gh5?

    Frontside Flip

I see what you tried to do with the flare but its quite distracting here. Shadows on him aren't very clean either. He's also positioned at a slightly awkward part of the frame too. This has a lot of potential, minor tweaks here and there would have made it really good.

    Bs Bigspin

Timing is a little early, and the frame is kind of busy, slightly shallower depth of field or framing him against a cleaner background would have made him pop out a little more. Showing more foreground and having him higher in the frame might have been good too.

    Feeble Pop Out

I like the colour scheme, angle is good too. Maybe you could have moved the right flash such that the shadow was cast a bit further to the left instead of on the maroon wall. Also I'm generally not a fan of tricks where you can only see one arm, but you can't check when shooting film and there probably wasn't an awful lot you could do about it in this case.

    Backside 5050 rail

Thanks for the feedback guys. Yeah the headphones weren't my call, was going to ask him to do it again without, but he ate shit on the next try. And yeah, tried my best with cloning but I'm shit at it. Was hoping nobody would notice but I've been called out twice already haha. Getting my friend to hold the flash slightly differently would have fixed it but we didn't get to redo it.

It's been months since I last shot a photo, only had two tries too. Feedback would be appreciated!

    Pupecki grind

Colours are a bit warm. I wonder if you could have shot a wider angle and done stuff with the things around the frame, perhaps that wouldnt have worked. Maybe more space at the bottom would be nice.
  23. TonyZ

    Heelflip

I like what you tried to do but I feel like there's not enough space on the right side of the frame and he's on the very edge it just feels kinda cramped.

    How To 4:3 Hd?

i see, im probably wrong then. I just assumed that they used a canon 8-15, which definitely has a soft vig due to the large sensors on these cameras. If thats the case then that nikon fisheye is very impressive if it can hold such sharp and perfect vig. Definitely from that new balance $$

    How To 4:3 Hd?

I'm pretty sure that vx4000 video, as well as that rb umali clip are both using vig overlays, its way too sharp to be natural.
