  1. Thanks for the detailed response! I aquired a capture cam from a friend and I'll try it soon, hopefully that will work. If not, then I'll try manually rewinding it. Is a bad tape end sensor a big deal? I usually never record to the end of my tapes, so I don't think it would matter that much, and I really don't want to send my cam in for repairs. Thanks!
  2. Capturing off of your VX does just as much damage as recording you know. Everyone makes it out to be a huge deal but it's just a meme to be honest. Obviously it's better to use a capture cam but it's possible for the capture cam to have many different tape brands used in it and it can mess up the heads which can get on your tapes and 'infect' your VX. So, by capturing off of my VX, I'm staying safe from TTDs (Tape Transmitted Diseases).
  3. I don't have one right now, is there any other way to fix the tape without one? Also, why can I rewind it with a dif cam but not with the vx?
  4. will I be able to rewind this tape with a different cam?
  5. Today I took a skate trip and filmed a lot of clips. I used most of the tape and there was like 2 minutes left when done. I was capturing them tonight off of my vx (i choose to capture off of it, don't give me shit) and i rewinded it a minute and captured a bit of footage. I noticed it was glitching so I ejected the tape and ran the head cleaner tape that I have. When I put the tape back in, my VX started beeping and the eject sign came on. I think that this is because I used the whole tape, but it wouldn't let me rewind it. My VX1000 isn't bricked, because it plays another tape fine, but I really need the clips that are on the tape. Is there anyway that I can rewind it and fix it? Please help

I have a 60D in good condition with a 50mm lens, looking to trade for an MK1 plus some cash.

    Is This An Mk1?

Hey guys, I recently purchased a lens from a friend. He said it was an MK1. He dropped it and it got scratched up so he sold it to me for $60 which is a great deal for a mk1, even if it's scratched. But, I'm looking at it and I'm not sure if it's a legit MK1. Could you guys tell me if he screwed me over? Here are some pics of the lens: http://imgur.com/a/uRmjy Also, I have a modded Raynox lens that I currently use, would this lens (MK1 or not) be better than my Raynox or should I try to get my money back?

Please Help! Vx Footy Looks Horrible On Youtube

Alright guys I uploaded a few clips using AlexJHorton's settings. I exported it from premiere as an AVI with no codec. I then exported that as a H.264 codec with quality at 100% in MPEG streamclip. The file was then a .mov file. I uploaded it to youtube and it doesn't look that much better than my other attempts and it still looks worse than playing the vid on my PC. Here is the link:

Please Help! Vx Footy Looks Horrible On Youtube

They all seem to look kinda shitty video quality compared to what they look like on my PC and what other VX vids look like.

Please Help! Vx Footy Looks Horrible On Youtube

I've already adjusted this, usually using 100% sharpness. What I need to know is how to make my vids look good on youtube

Please Help! Vx Footy Looks Horrible On Youtube

Alright, I've tried using MPEGstreamclip but I'll try again eqporting it to quicktime. I'll update. Thanks
  13. Hey guys, I haven't really used these forums since 2012, but I really need some help. I have a vx1000 and I edit using premiere pro. The footage looks fine in Premiere. I can export it as an AVI or as an H.264 file, and they both look great while played on my computer. But, when uploaded to youtube, the footage looks pretty shitty. Here is one of the edits I've made so you can see what I'm talking about: As you can see, the quality isn't very good. I would think that it's just youtube's compression and that I should just give up, but I look at other VX videos on youtube and the quality is much better. Please help! I've tried everything. I've exported as many different files, but no matter how good it looks on my PC, it looks like shit on youtube. Thanks! EDIT: The fisheye footage has a lot of vignetting cause I used a weird DIY lens. Don't worry, I just got an MK1.
