Thanks for the critique, Tim.
Aside from the length, I would have to disagree with you 100% about the footage with the school kids not promoting my cinematography. These show various lighting styles and control with light by keeping things consistent, as well as being more rounded with knowledge of different formats. They provide both night and day shots with different motivated sources such as the sun, lamps, and stage lighting. Not only that, but they also provide examples of controlled camera movements as well as static shots.
I agree with the font, that is something that I definitely think I could change with this one. The aim is something professional, but I think this one missed the mark a little bit.
As for the song, I feel that music in demo reels is often a personal taste type of thing. I enjoy the song for this edit and feel that it works for my reel, but I definitely understand if some people may not get the same feeling from it as I do. However, regarding the music's relation to the editing, I feel that this still gives me plenty of choices editing-wise and I did try to work with it in a way that I felt helped the reel. It definitely may fail to do so in some people's eyes, so I can understand what you mean. I am very against using any sort of unnecessary transition or effect for something like this, as it is made to highlight my cinematography and focus on the shots. Examples of this would include unmotivated cross dissolves, wipes, frames-within-frames, film burns or anything that I feel could take the focus away from the shots for even a second. Haha perhaps I'm just stubborn, but I suppose that's just my editing style here.
Thanks for the feedback, any other questions or suggestions would be greatly appreciated as well!
