  1. Dropped a bunch of $$$ and reunited the old FRILL skate crew of half a decade past, for a three-week, no-rules summer skate trip. Here is the first teaser to pique your interest.. ❤
  2. Here's an edit from our old Texas crew 'frill' that we just got around to uploading after three years: We recently reassembled about half the crew, rented a van, and went on a 21-day trip with stops in Houston, New Orleans, NYC, and Boston. It's approximately 1 parts skating to 7 parts partying and nonsense, but look out for some sort of finished product in the near future!

  6. Audio

Zoom H4n users.. I'm having an issue where random recordings seem to just disappear after I hit stop. It just happens randomly, after I hit stop the file isn't there to playback, and it's nowhere on the sd card after I upload to my comp. Am I possibly hitting something that stops that particular session from saving to the card properly? Can't find anyone else experiencing this on google..

  8. Sxsw Recap Vids

First of, SXSW is amazing. Go if you ever have the chance. I turned these around in the three days following the festival, so audio and color are rough, pretty much raw and untouched. I was working on deadline since it supplements our printed newspaper at Texas State: SXSW Recap #1 -- SXSW Recap #2 -- SXSW Recap #3 -- Canon 7D Glidecam HD-2000 Vivitar 85mm f/1.4 Canon 50mm f/1.4 Sigma 30mm f/1.4 Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 Samyang 8mm f/3.5 Rode Video Mic Stereo Zoom H4n 109 free alcoholic beverages. 4hrs sleep/night for 10 days straight.
  9. Some Work I've Done For The Spurs

thanks y'all, the lav i used is just some wired sony xlr mic that my producer had lying around. @tim, i noticed all those things after the fact, it's crazy what a casual tv/film viewer might take for granted i haven't done much outside of adjusting brightness/contrast when it comes to color correction, what do you use?
  10. Some Work I've Done For The Spurs

Yea I pretty much get complete creative control with these projects. I did everything from arranging the shoots, filming, interviewing, and editing. I used just a softbox light for the interview with Chuck, and a second backlight on the camera op interview. It's funny cus I'm not very experienced with lighting, and the camera op actually set them up for his own interview hah! The Chuck interview was two camera (my little brother's T2i), and with the camera op I just interviewed a second time using a different lens. I'm probably the only member of the media who gets to move around freely as I please, it's pretty incredible. I'm hoping to pick up attention with these kind of clips and get some access to the players, something the Spurs aren't too big on.
  11. Been a while since I posted, I've actually been doing a weekly tv show for the San Antonio Spurs. The producer is really sick, he let's me take on projects and shoot with my 7D. Here are a few segments I did completely solo: Arena Host -- Camera Operator -- It's quite an experience, especially as a huge Spurs/NBA fan.
  12. Big Boi

thanks, glad to hear your peepin the blog! the slow mo clips were shot at 60fps and conformed to 24 in after effects.
  13. Big Boi

Been a while since I posted one of these: I know the shot from the crowd isn't the greatest, that dude is shooting with a kit lens, and I don't think he knows his settings very well. The lighting was also a challenge because the stage was really hot, and the crowd had nothing, so I kinda settled in between. Canon 7D Glidecam HD-2000 Sigma 30mm f/1.4 Samyang 8mm f/3.5 Zoom H4n
