    P2HD vs AVCHD

New to the world of HD camcorders, what reason would I have to buy a P2 camera over an AVC? I always hear about skate/snowboard filmers using the HVX200 and HPX170, why not use something like an AC160 for the cheaper and easier-to-read cards?
  2. My zoom has been slow/sticky it goes really slow then moves at the regular speed, is this a common problem?

    Which Is Fishier?

I'm receiving my hvx200 from Tanner Cudney on here in a couple days and im deciding on one of two fisheyes to buy. I've been looking at the century 0.55x and the 16x9 inc. 0.45x and I need help trying to figure out which has better distortion, etc. And sadly no, the Xtreme is out of the picking for now. Any dirt you got on this fisheyes let a bro know! http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/429702-REG/Century_Precision_Optics_0HD_FESU_HVX_0_55x_Fisheye_Adapter_Lens.html http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/624170-REG/16x9_Inc_169_HDSF45X_HVX_169_HDSF45X_HVX_EXII_Fisheye_Converter.html

    Hvx200 Capture

I recently got an hvx200 from a friend who has not used it in years and is not sure if it still functions or not. The camera turns on AND records on an old mini dv tape I found. I did not purchase a p2 card yet and would like to know how I can try to capture footage onto my Macbook Pro via USB or firewire. I searched this for a while but couldn't find anything up to date. I also am using Premiere Pro Cs5. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

  17. After seeing this: http://forums.skateperception.com/index.php?/topic/297303-super-wide-opteka-mod-vx1000-52mm-opteka/ I started wondering if you could use this mod on a .4x or a 16x9 fisheye and if it would be a reasonable option for an hvx/hpx/hmc setup. Has anyone tried this and if not will somebody try it because I'm curious about how it will turn out?

    New Setup, Panasonic Hvx200

I just sold my last GH2 setup and was given the opportunity to buy an hvx200 at a good price for the amazing condition that its in and I was wondering if anyone would be able to help lead me in the right path filming wise? I have owned 2 Dvx's in the past as well as a vx1k and this is my first time using a camcorder in years since my vx1000 so I'm going to be a bit rusty and going to be fisheye less until I buy an xtreme. I have been watching Ride Channels tutorials as well but any advice, scene files or basic settings that anyone out there would like to recommend would be great!

    Fs-100 Firestore 250gb For Sale

http://www.ebay.com/itm/261551069173?ssPageName=STRK:MESCX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1554.l2649 Here is the ebay link to the item, the 250 gb model is very rare to find! More info and all pictures are posted on the ebay listing. FS-100 Firestore 250 GB This is an external hard drive for your camera that you plug up by Firewire 400 (6 pin). Model FS-100. You can find out if your camera can use it by looking at this link. http://www.webvideoguys.com/PDFs/Suggested_Camera_Compatible_and_Files_Formats_Guide.pdf Apparently there are ways to make it compatible with more cameras, please do the research. The hard drive is in very great condition; there are very small scratches on the body itself, no scratches on the screen or the front itself. The 250gb model is VERY HARD to find for sale online, and very few were made compared to the 160gb model. This one is for sale, and has an extended battery and a mounting box attached (shown in photos). Original manual and extra paper instructions of how to set it up to your camera, and original paperwork and charger included! The only thing missing is the firewire 400 cable used to plug up to the camera/computer which can easily be found online. Here is more information on this particular model. PLEASE DO SOME RESEARCH BEFORE COMMITTING TO BUY. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/557087-REG/Panasonic_ASYF_1296_01LF_FS_100_250_250GB_Portable_DTE.html

    Hvx200 & Opteka .3x Vig Solution

Vig on the HVX / Opteka .3x looks horrible, but I found a solution to it. I was playing around in Magic Bullet Looks today and noticed that it had a lens distortion you can add to your footage. I added it to my look just to see what it did, and after playing with the distortion amount I managed to get rid of all vig on the .3x, while maintaining vertical height. For this I set the distortion to: Distortion: -31.3% Flatten: 35.7% It seems to be the happy medium, it pretty much ends up looking like a DSLR fisheye. You lose a little bit of horizontal width but its still much more effective than cropping or spending heaps on an xtreme. I am currently editing a video with this "look" on all the fisheye footage, I'll post it when its up so you can see what it looks like. Hope this helps!
  24. Who out there is using an xtreme fisheye? I just got one and it's heavier than I thought. Weight distribution feels awkward. Maybe I'll get used to it. Anyone out here have an opinion on using the xtreme? Like it or not? Thanks
