    VX or HD

This is probably a well debated topic on this on forum. Im looking at buying a camera for skateboarding. Should i purchase a VX1000 MK1 or an HD camera with a fisheye. My budget is $2000 what are my options? i know nothing about HD Cameras. Extra question- Ive seen VX1000s used with a data video digital recorder. Has anyone had experience with this device?? Does it get in the way while filming?

    Opteka Bayo?

Hey all I've got a vx2100 with the Opteka 0.3x Mk2 clone (poor man's mk2). I'd love to be able to bayo mount it for swapping ease but I can't find any resources online. My question is, could I just get a regular bayomount/bayoring for a vx2k and screw it on to my Opteka? As far as I know, the mk1 and the Opteka mk2 both have 58mm threads, so shouldn't the bayoring for the mk1 work on both? Here are links to the products I'm talking about: Opteka Mk2 clone: https://www.amazon.com/Opteka-OPT-SC58FE-Titanium-Professional-Camcorders/dp/B001P1PXA0/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1517933174&sr=8-2&keywords=opteka+58mm Vx2k-mk1 bayoring: http://www.vx1000market.com/new-products/robpjkedzwkymxpe8yihpwjwngbwja
  4. I haven't posted on here in quite some time, but last winter me and my friends came out with a full length skate video. If you'd like a copy of it DM me and I'll mail you one. It took us around 3 or 4 years to film for it, but it's out now and we've already started filming for the next project. This is an edit I put together with footage from the video. Hope you guys like it. - Mikey

    Mk2 Different Hoods

Why do some Century Mk2 lenses have a four petal hood and some have a two petal hood? Is there a difference in the optics at all? Is one a newer version, or do different camera mounts have different hoods or what? Thanks for any replies.

    Mic Install Vx2100

Hey guys, quick question and forgive me if this has already been resolved elsewhere. I have a Sony VX2100 with a broken mic. I ordered one off eBay that said would fit VX2000, and VX2100. Though when I try to install it, it seems the ribbon cable is just a hair to short to reach. And if it did reach, it would be extremely to tight. So, is the mic for the vx2000, and vx2100 the same and I'm installing improperly. Or did I order the wrong mic? Thanks so much.

  9. Sorry I know this question has been asked a lot but what are the best export settings for a film mostly shot with a vx2000 but also has some HD and VHS footage in there aswell? I used to live with another filmer and he used to do all the export settings for me. There isn't much HD about 1 minute all together. The video is 37 mins long and i wanted to upload it to Vimeo and maybe have a couple of DVDS for the shop. Here is the trailer which is also a mix of DV/HD/VHS mix I can't remember what settings were used to export this from final cut 7 and then on to Vimeo. Many Thanks
  10. Hey guys, I am looking to buy a Camera. Should I buy a VX1, VX2/21 or a DVX? I will be using the camera to film (obviously) skateboarding Thanks
  11. I just received my VX2000 today, and the mic is a little loose. It still works fine, but I'm worried about the long-run. Is there a way I can fix it myself? Super glueing it would probably fix it, but I'm going to assume that's a terrible idea.
  12. Has anyone ever thought to make a small company and manufacture new parts for the vx like the vap unit, circuit boards, cassette deck, etc... it just came to mind today because theres a few that fix them with other broken vx's. And yes i know making a company and the supplies aren't an over night thing. i just wanted to hear what you guys think, I'm not starting the company but just curious.

    Wtb: Mk1

I got 500 Bucks right now waiting in my electronic piggy bank for a near minty fresh fisheye. If someone wants to hold an mk1 for me till I have enough to match their asking price, I'd appreciate it. Can be a vx1000 Bayo or vx2000 Bayomounted. Thanks guys

    Vx2000 W/amit Bayo Lens

Hey guys, today I am selling my Sony Vx2000 setup. I've had it for a little bit now but I need to upgrade for school which is coming up. I have babied this camera and my friend that I got it from has also babied it too. I have never had a single problem with this camera and can almost guarantee you wont either. It doesnt have a normal vx2000 eyecup but it does have a large vx1000 eyecup that does the job.. the camera itself is clean, body has minimal scuffs and wear and the lens is in prestine condition with no marks or anything. The mic does not have any sag it looks clean. Never hit or dropped. It comes with 3 batteries. 1 Sony and 2 ebay batteries with a ebay charger. I will post pictures when i get around to it because I am pretty busy but I figured id post it without pictures right now. Id like to sell it as a group but for the right price I may be willing to split. Selling the vx2000 for $400 OBO. You can contact me on here or by phone at 6three0-four08-four58four

    Silent Film

some of my first vx2000 footage. no fisheye at the time. and pinnicle studio 15 is acting up with capture so no sound.
  20. is there a difference between a regular mk1 or a intermediate mk1? I have been seeing a lot of vx2000 footage that claims to be a intermediate and there is no vig. But in some videos the mk1 on the vx2000 shows vig. I just want to know if there is a difference. I would much rather have the vig in my videos.

  23. I filmed most of this and my friend edited it. We used a vx2000 with a 58mm opteka and a raymod for most of it, some of the SF stuff was filmed with a random Panasonic dv camera because I fell with my vx. And we used my friend's Panasonic vhs camera too. We're not that good but hopefully you enjoy watching it. There's a little bmx too.
