    Flash Strobes?

What's up guys! I've been shooting a lot of skateboarding photos lately instead of filmiing and i've been using a neewer high speed sync external flash with triggers. sometimes the light can be too harsh and you cannot see the effect that the flash has, even with brand new or charged batteries. So basically i'm looking for anything affordable when it comes to Strobes. I've never used strobes before so i don't really know what i'm supposed to be using with it when it comes to batteries and using it outside and all that. if anyone has any suggestions on what i can go look at that'd be rad and i'd appreciate it! i'll have some links to something i'm looking at but i'm not 100% sure if they're gonna do the job. I'll also post a link to my flickr so you can see the type of photos i wanna be shooting http://ebay.to/21Y7xiL flickr.com/ericdanielphoto thank you in advance yall!

    Flash Questions

So I'm buying my 1st flash and I just want to know a few things about shooting skating with them and how to use them properly. What is a rim light? How many flashes are really needed? How to shoot with your flash off the camera? Triggers? All that good stuff... ( Link to the flash I'm getting for my T3i ) http://www.amazon.com/Yongnuo-YN-560-Speedlight-Flash-Nikon/dp/B0079M711S/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1394339669&sr=1-1&keywords=Yongnuo+560+ii

    Flash Photography Help?

Ive been shooting photos for about a year now with a Canon T2i and my buddy loaned me some flashes he had some Sunpaks but in bright daylight when I still need to use a flash im getting some bad motion blur and my buddy had suggested that to solve the problem I would need better flashes. I dont know much about flashes and there seems to be so many different types, styles, and brands. I was told Quantum Q flashes were great but problem is those are 1000$ each and im no pro photographer I just want decent clear crisp photos no matter what the lighting situation. Does anyone have any insight to help me figure out what kind of flashes would be best for me? Not sure I need something so damn expensive, maybe in the future. Id really just like to know of a good flash not to expensive not to cheap that will help reduce that motion blur I get during the day. Its not all the time I get motion blur but if the skater is doing something that hes going super fast at its pretty darn bad im just looking to clear that up a bit. Any other information about flashes is much appreciated I just dont know where to start. I was also told that Lumedynes were good flashes better to buy used cause they are also expensive but when I look those up there are so many different types of Lumedynes I get totally lost. Dont want to spend the money when I dont know if its going to help my photography or not. Thanks for the info.

    Choosing Studio Strobes

Hey guys, Apologies in advance if this topic has been tirelessly covered. I'm looking to step up from my speed lights to studio strobes. Like most skate photog's I'm looking for: -Affordable (including replacement upon impact with skateboards & setup) -Portable, I have a car but naturally theres always a bit of skating between spots -Longer flash duration as I use the pocketwizard hypersync technology and would like to continue. I originally was drawn to alien bees for the price tag but people have been telling me the b1600 (the best for outdoor) are pretty heavy and unreasonable to consider for what I want, elinchrome's were my next guess but they're almost double in price. Any other suggestions along with some justification would be greatly appreciated, open my eyes people! I would definitley like to hear if any one first hand have used alien bees to shoot skating and their experiences. Thanks!

    Flash Slaves & Cybersyncs

Im just gettting into the photo game and i recently bought a set of two receivers and a transmitter. But i was wondering if I could use any ol' flash with the receivers even if they dont fit the shoes... but as long as i had the "cybersync" cable. Im assuming the cables purpose is to enable its capability to work with flashes that dont fit the shoe. Like i said i dont really know much, anything helps. thanks

    Looking To Upgrade

So right now I've been shooting alot of skateboarding, using 2 sb-700 speedlights slaved by my on-board flash. but of course my max sync speed is only 1/200 which is causing blur and sadness for me. Im posting to ask what would be an ideal upgrade for me, meaning which flashes and triggers are best for skateboarding and creating crisp images. thanks
