  1. I'm looking to further my slaved setup. I have two cheap Neweer brand flashes and some crappy triggers/recievers off Amazon. I want to step up my work. I've found an alien bee I want but what exactly do i need to get it to wirelessly sync (slave) to my canon dslr?

    Flash Questions

So I'm buying my 1st flash and I just want to know a few things about shooting skating with them and how to use them properly. What is a rim light? How many flashes are really needed? How to shoot with your flash off the camera? Triggers? All that good stuff... ( Link to the flash I'm getting for my T3i ) http://www.amazon.com/Yongnuo-YN-560-Speedlight-Flash-Nikon/dp/B0079M711S/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1394339669&sr=1-1&keywords=Yongnuo+560+ii

    Choosing Studio Strobes

Hey guys, Apologies in advance if this topic has been tirelessly covered. I'm looking to step up from my speed lights to studio strobes. Like most skate photog's I'm looking for: -Affordable (including replacement upon impact with skateboards & setup) -Portable, I have a car but naturally theres always a bit of skating between spots -Longer flash duration as I use the pocketwizard hypersync technology and would like to continue. I originally was drawn to alien bees for the price tag but people have been telling me the b1600 (the best for outdoor) are pretty heavy and unreasonable to consider for what I want, elinchrome's were my next guess but they're almost double in price. Any other suggestions along with some justification would be greatly appreciated, open my eyes people! I would definitley like to hear if any one first hand have used alien bees to shoot skating and their experiences. Thanks!

    Tre Flip And Front Boardslide

Here are some photos (requiring a team effort) I have taken of my friends using an external flash for my first time. The flash I used is a very old second hand one I borrowed off my friends dad. The fun thing about these photos were that I didn't use any triggers. I set my shutter on bulb and while I held it open my friend holding the flash aimed it at the skater and pushed the test button on it which set off the flash. Was kind of stoked how semi legit they looked. I don't really shoot much and when I do it's just for fun mucking around with the homies. Any feed back welcomed guys Cheers Tre Flip: Front Board:
  5. Im just wondering what I could get from you guys on a D80 body, PHOTTIX grip (super good batterly life, portrait shutter button and arrow buttons, charger) the kit AF-S 18-135mm 3.5/5.6 ED lens and also a nice, practically unused AF 50mm 1.8D. Everything still has its original packaging, and the 50mm has warrenty left. Also have an awesome KATA 3n1-20 bag. Fits everything with plenty of room for another small slr and a flash/lenses. Just throw me some offers and maybe ill take one. *also* have a Canon FD 100-300/5.6 ZOOM lens in OG box. its mint as shit. GOt a Canon 28mm 2.8 lens that is also mint. Used both on my A1 and they are gorgeous. Also have a Canon Speedlite 177A with OG bag and manual, still fires beautifully, and a Speedlite 155a which i honestly have not tested. And finall, I have a Canon Eos Elan in GORGEOUS shape with OG manual. not a scratch on it. with that I have a EF35-105 4.5/5.6(mint), a EF 75-300mm 4/5.6(mint in OG box). spare neckstrap. I have an unopened, unrefridgerated 8 pack of Kodak MAX kodacolour iso 400 film that expired in 2007, i have another 4 or 5 rolls of it layin around aswell, same year. Just toss out offers guys, im really open to negotiation, but I am in no real rush for money. If you are curious i have a few old (70-80's) video and film cameras aswel so PM me for info on those. Happy offers!
