    Filmer Backpacks

Gonna be filming a new street video this spring/summer and I plan on doing some photography as well so my very-basic Poler camera bag isn't gonna cut it anymore. My only criteria for recommendations is that it has a spot to hold a tripod. What's the best filmer bag out there guys?

    Flash Strobes?

What's up guys! I've been shooting a lot of skateboarding photos lately instead of filmiing and i've been using a neewer high speed sync external flash with triggers. sometimes the light can be too harsh and you cannot see the effect that the flash has, even with brand new or charged batteries. So basically i'm looking for anything affordable when it comes to Strobes. I've never used strobes before so i don't really know what i'm supposed to be using with it when it comes to batteries and using it outside and all that. if anyone has any suggestions on what i can go look at that'd be rad and i'd appreciate it! i'll have some links to something i'm looking at but i'm not 100% sure if they're gonna do the job. I'll also post a link to my flickr so you can see the type of photos i wanna be shooting http://ebay.to/21Y7xiL flickr.com/ericdanielphoto thank you in advance yall!

    Junior College Academic Probation

I took some photos yesterday of my friends ripping and I like how some of them turned out. They have been filming a video for the past year or so and I've started coming along. I posted them up at http://www.maynesmanor.com if anyone cares to check them out and tell me they suck. Insta promo
  5. I'm looking to further my slaved setup. I have two cheap Neweer brand flashes and some crappy triggers/recievers off Amazon. I want to step up my work. I've found an alien bee I want but what exactly do i need to get it to wirelessly sync (slave) to my canon dslr?

  7. Sup dudes, I want to open a YouTube channel and have the SkatePerception community involved. Basically from what i've been brainstorming the channel would consist of: Filming, Photographer & Editing How-To'sHow it would work: A skateperception member can film their how to weather it be on filming, editing or photography then they will send the clips to a video editor who is a skateperception member to edit the video together and render it out then finally send it to me to upload. At the end of each video it will say which members were involved in the making of the video and have www.forums.skateperception.com at the end to hopefully bring in new members. Interviews/Insight with members (Filmers, photographers, editors)How it would work: I would send the skateperception member a number of various questions for example ( how they got into filming, photography or editing, any new projects, goals, current camera gear, favorite project ever created or been involved in ect.) Then they would set up there camera and film all the answers to the questions then email it too a video editor who is a skateperception member to edit the video together render it out then finally send it too me to upload. At the end of each video it will say which members were involved in the making of the video and end on www.forums.skateperception.com to hopefully bring in new members. Feature the FilmerHow it would work: A filmer who is also a skateperception member would send me a video via www.wetransfer.com they put together which they would like to be featured. At the end of the video it will say the member's name and there social media ect. Who wants to get involved? If you want to get involved tell us in the comments of this topic or want to contribute more ideas and concepts let us know. Also what could we name the channel? Thanks, Jarred

  9. http://www.jenkemmag.com/home/2014/06/17/an-interview-with-skateboardings-gayest-photographer-sam-mcguire/ Here's sams interiew on the whole thing on coming out and he has an instagram picture that he posted a day ago to just come out. To me it really doesn't matter if hes gay it doesn't make me change a look on him but for me you can't be doing anything in public like kissing, anything else and i will probably be grossed out. I want to know your guys look on this and see if this changes anything you had on him.

When my budget is right, I would eventually like to start shooting real polaroids. Until then here's a couple makeshift ones that I edited for Instagram (@aaronmcnevich). They're not much and I'm no photographer, but let me know what you think. Shot with an iPhone 3GS.

    Nikon D7100 Or Canon 60d

So i was wondering which to get, Canon 60d or Nikon d7100 because my Panasonic GS250 just broke and i want to start dslr filming/photography. The 60d maybe because of the flip out lcd and its cheaper or the d7100 because of the photography benefits. HELP PLEASE!!! http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCK6zeDr0pP-ovQva9wiAovQ

    Best Budget Flash

So i'm looking into investing into an off camera flash but i'm on a tight budget. I've been looking at a couple different flashes, the Neewer TT-560 and the Yongnuo YN-560 II. If anyone has worked with either of those or both, if you could give me some advantages/disadvantages that would be great.

  16. I'm looking for photographers who want to present their work on a project I've been working on for the past 6 months: the United Skateboard Photography Project. It has a dedicated site (http://www.unitedskateboardpp.com) which features skateboard photographers from around the world (growing fast!) and the main focus is the publication of a 300 page hardbound book featuring 50 skateboard photographers worldwide with 50% of the sales going to the skateboarder backed charity organization "Grind For Life" - they are officially supporting the project. If you are interested in joining up: here's what I need from you (or any photographers you may know!) to get your page up on the USPP site (please send your submissions here: info@unitedskateboardpp.com ) (IMPORTANT: I would like to ONLY have the possibility to show these photos on the site and if you are chosen for the book, in the book. They remain as your property!!!) - 5 to 10 skate photographs, 900 pixels wide and whatever height - a portrait photo of yourself - general information: >> where are you currently located / living >> age / how long have you been involved with photography >> what type of cameras do you shoot with? >> favourite photography accessory, other than your camera? >> if you had to choose one lens which one would it be and why? >> what makes a skate photograph original and unique: basically what is your idea of a good photo? >> name the first photographer that comes to your mind and why? >> what do you feel is the most challenging thing about skateboard photography? >> any references you may have (past and present photogrpahy work) and/or your relation to skateboarding >> contact information so if somebody likes your photos we can get you connected (website, email, telephone, home/business address - whatever you want to show or not) In next two to three months the selection process for the printed book with be done as well and the selected photographers contacted. It's going to be a tough decision process with the amount of great photos coming in every day! Hope to hear back from you soon! Choosing Studio Strobes

Hey guys, Apologies in advance if this topic has been tirelessly covered. I'm looking to step up from my speed lights to studio strobes. Like most skate photog's I'm looking for: -Affordable (including replacement upon impact with skateboards & setup) -Portable, I have a car but naturally theres always a bit of skating between spots -Longer flash duration as I use the pocketwizard hypersync technology and would like to continue. I originally was drawn to alien bees for the price tag but people have been telling me the b1600 (the best for outdoor) are pretty heavy and unreasonable to consider for what I want, elinchrome's were my next guess but they're almost double in price. Any other suggestions along with some justification would be greatly appreciated, open my eyes people! I would definitley like to hear if any one first hand have used alien bees to shoot skating and their experiences. Thanks!

    Fakie 5-0 (canon T70)

Just looking for some critique on this photo. Just got a Canon T70 along with a 50mm, which I have since broken, and a 28mm. This is my first time shooting film so I was stressing more about whether or not I was doing it right rather than composition and all that. Any recommendations for film? Looking to go and shoot some street photos soon. I also took a whole lot more which you can view here.
