    2011 Trip To Nk

So I never really explained how I got to NK last year. I know some people were interested in hearing the stories n stuff. So I'm just going to make a topic and explain a few things. SO I went here last year at around august. I made my way to china before hand and was doing some work in china when I contacted someone that we really wanted to go into NK. I got in contact with a student of a sunday school I taught in Vancouver, and she ran this minisrty called First steps. So another girl and I had to make our way from Dalian to Beijing in a bus for 14 hours with no bathroom (it sucked) to meet someone we have never met or seen before in some random city with just an address in Chinese. Needless to say we ended up finding them and got to talk about their ministry n stuff for a the rest of the day. The next day we go off trying to get our visas and flights. Pretty much if you had the money and you aren't American, they just ask you for your money and let you on your way. So flight day comes and we head to beijing airport and head to Air Koryo desk which they basically reused from in the back back of the airport. It seemed super sketchy when people were checking in flat screen t.v's with pins of this guy on em. It just got weirder and weirder the more we got closer to the airplane. They played victory music and victory movies allllll flight super super loud. We then landed on the longest air strip I have ever seen. Since we landed it took like 30 mins to get to the airport that had this badboy all over it Than we got into a small room that everyone had to pretend like they were going through customs and they took everyone's phones for their time being in the country. we left that room and met the government workers that would be with us our whole trip. They were super awesome, One worked with the organization for 3 years and the other guy was 20 years old because they wanted someone I could relate to. It was hella cool to get to hang out with these guys that don't really see life any other way and just chill with them pretty much. We drove to our hotel and the drive was the cleanest air I have ever breathed. driving through most barley any industrialization made the mountain air so clean amazing. Everyone walking or biking everywhere. We ended up to our hotel and it was made up of all marble pretty much. We stayed at the same place the vice guide to travel guys did, so same bugs same everything pretty much. We started our tour and things like that with going to the Juche tower and where kim jung ill is. tons of creepyness and tons of just intense situations. We toured the country pretty much and got to photograph the need in the country. We went to see medical clinics, orphanages, childrens homes, schools and all the tourist stuff. Although we got to see most of the facade, we got to hear a lot of the realness that has to do with the whole country like not having enough food and rolling blackouts. The country hasn't developed in almost 50 years and they are slowly and surely losing support from other countries. So in about 2 months I should be able to say I'm on my way back. But traveling so much costs a bunch and I want to take good photos, but I have no film to take more photos. I want to shoot more while I'm there but I had to be very conservative with my film. If you would like to donate some film (35mm, 120, 220) Please message me. Thanks guys! and hope to bring back more stories, and if you have any questions I'm down to answer whatever

  8. Alright so I got a Nike shuttle bag to travel with some extra decks and such. Problem is, I'm trying to figure out if I can take it as a carry on or not. Here's the bag: On skate warehouse it says the dimensions of it fully packed are 32"l x 10"w x 6"d; mine isn't going to be completely stuffed but if it was that would add up to 48" and on the Delta site is says a carryon should be under 45" added up.. Last year I carried on a deck without any problems so I thought I could do the same with this. Anyone have one of these and tried carrying it on? Any help at all?.. Thanks, I leave Monday night.. ><
