Recommended Posts

Its a little rough, first time repairing anything, took me a while, and ran out of tape by the time the new cable got in.

Enjoy!

I saw this on youtube, added it to my favourite, even though i know how to replace the ribbon cable. I did the exact same thing as you a little while ago by pulling up the handle without the screws in, only thing is i broke my bloody handle ribbon cable.
pretty cool, what was on your handle at the end?
its a shoe lace.
I saw someone who had it and i was curious what it does.

It gave me more control and stability. idk how but, also, i wrap it around the shoe mount/shoulder strap loop so i can put my thumb there comfortably. and thickens the handle of course.

I figured i'de post it here since people with broken viewfinders will look here first.

But if thats where it truly belongs then someone move it.

Its no problem man. I looked all over the net trying to find a good tutorial and all i found was the same text, over and over. So I thought it would be cool to make the video, because i wish i would of had something like this.

I want to make it better though, the only problem is... my cable is fixed haha.

Great guide. I'm about to order a ribbon cable for my VX that I just bought, and I plan on using your video. Did you find it hard to replace the ribbon cable, or was it just a lot of work?

It was a very simple repair. It only took me a long time because it was my first repair and I wanted to be really careful, and the text tutorial was crappy/missing 2 steps.

But u should be fine.

No this would be perfect for the main site, just upload it as MISC video or whatever.... it'll end up being an article on the main site content.... we're going to do away with alot of the stuff we have now and move to strictly video tutorials (for the most part).

Hmm, well. I bought a used cable from Xiaxinde and followed this precisely, yet it didn't fix the problem. However, previously my tape compartment wouldn't eject, and now it does. I think I should be happy, but I may have to open it up and do it again.
