1337. is all for this; not sure if many others are interested. If it doesn't go over well, I'll just delete it.

Anyone wanna start it off? :)

Anyone of you prominent film makers heard much about the Toronto Film College? I'm looking into film schools right now ( in Canada ) and so far this is looking pretty good, apart from the fact it's a condensed course. 18 Months instead of 3 years.. Any feedback?

Besides San Diego, I haven't heard many good things about the condensed course schools. I personally think it would be a waste of money. You get nothing to fall back on and that eighteen months may or may not be enough for you, ya know? Do you have any experience in filmmaking other than shooting skate videos?

Hell yeah I back this thread. I'm making like 3 comedy shorts for a talent show type thing within a month so this would be pretty helpful.

Right on, man! Good luck with those.

Procrastinating on my English final caused me to learn in depth about vectorscopes, waveform utilities, and other nerdy stuff in relation. I am now an expert. \m/

I'm working on a short film for a extra credit school project. We are making a parody of sorts of the Song of Roland because it's an ancient church history course. I'll be sure to post the link if it ever gets finished. The professor said we would get two letter grades(and I'm sitting on a high C so that would be helpful) if we do a good enough job yet no one in my class has any work ethic and it's really bumming me out. If the project ever does get finished I'll be sure to come back in here and show you all.

Anybody else working on any projects right now?

I'm currently in pre-production for a film that's going to be partially shot at Octagon Hall, which is this "haunted" property where they housed wounded Civil War soldiers back during the war. Supposedly three people

have died in there and it has been on all these Ghost hunting shows and what not. I went there the other day to get photos to help me on the shot list, and my friend's phone started going crazy shutting on and off. I don't necessarily believe this stuff so....

Anyway, this is also my first film to have an actor who has acted in several feature films and a couple 'blockbuster' feature films. I'm pretty excited, but also pretty stressed/nervous.

Edit: MediocreFilmer beat me to the post. Haha. Good luck! It sucks working with half-ass people.

I'm working on a short action sports edit for the National Film Festival for Talented Youth. Not sure how well its gonna turn out though. :)

I feel you. Just take your time on it, and if you need to re-edit or keep editing a thousand times, do it.

Sick! Is it a popular station or a local station?

Just got asked today if I would like to be a judge at a youth film festival in Louisville next month. :o

I worked on a feature this year called "Here Comes The Boom" w/ Kevin James and Salma Hayek directed by Frank Coraci (Also did Water Boy, Zookeeper and The Wedding Singer), playing a camera man believe it or not hahah but they actually used some of our footage in the final cut too which is going to be cool to see in the theaters. I was drooling the entire 9 days I was on set.. :) such a cool experience

You worked in the camera department for that film?! I couldn't find you on IMDb; do you mind if I ask what your position was?

Also, out of curiosity: Were you only on set for nine days, or is that how long production took place? If that's the total amount, then that is stupid fast!

No, I don't mind at all!!

Technically, I was not part of the "Camera Dept" however I was in the film and they used footage from my camera (Had to go through and register with SAG and all). I work for a local MMA company (The Global Fight League) and they were in the movie. They wanted it to simulate our events exact so the camera crew who works for the Global Fight League "Ran Camera" in the movie. I was on the cage for the majority of it, but I also "Operated" the walk down camera too. They used some of our actual walk down footage, and some of our on cage footage in the cut of the film to make it seem more realistic. We used a couple Sony EX1's which is what we use for the actual events too.

So TECHNICALLY I wasn't part of the "actual" camera dept. but I'll be in the credits as a Cameraman for the GFL, and possibly even as a camera op seeing as they used some of the footage off of the camera in the film.

And I was only on set for 9 days, they filmed at several different places in the area for different scenes/"fight events" etc and ours was 9, 14 hour days total.

It was the 1st big budget film I was part of and like I said before was definitely a cool experience to be able to talk to some of the people in it who've been doing this as a career for a while!!

That's still fucking rad! I knew there was no way that production could have only taken place during the course of nine days! Haha! I'll be looking for you in the credits! Hopefully this opens up more doors for you too.

Just started an internship today, doing a public service announcement for the local skatepark, and I'm in pre-production of a short experimental film. Pretty stoked

is it just me or are those kids like 12? what the hell? How much did you get paid for that?

About a month ago I got a gig doing music videos for a School of Rock-type thing in my hometown. The owner manages that girl Jade who's 13. And yeah, pretty much everyone in the video is around her age -- we put out a casting call at the middle school, where we also shot much of the video.

I have been working on a lot of commercial and non-profit stuff over the past year and right now I am trying to just create films of my own. It is definitely a lot of time and effort to try to get people together and actually produce a whole film (a hell of a lot more effort than going out and skating with friends I must say :) ) but I think the end product is worth it. Recently I have been going solo and getting a bit experimental, but I soon plan on working on a narrative with a few friends and a crew.

Anyone else currently working on some solo projects?
