Same way you would for a VX. Get the skater to stand about as far away as you're going to film, have them pop a few ollies and adjust the volume knobs (both channel one and two) accordingly, to keep the pop nice and crisp, and to make sure it doesn't blow out over the red.

Atleast that's how I do it.

lol, hate to say it, but I just use the normal 24Pa stuff. I like doing my stuff more in post. Much more fun.

Anyways, I was kinda hesitant at first to give this thread the sticky since I wasn't sure how many people would contribute, but it seems as if it's taking off. So...sticky thread! woot woot!

It'd be nice if you could post a grab of what the settings get you. That would be cool instead of having to try it out ourselves to figure out that we hate the look cause it takes a long frickin time and a lot of dinkin' to get all those numbers in there if you know what I mean.

Yeah, frame grabs are much easier to post up and look at though. If you do that you have to deal with weird compression, plugins, blah blah.

Gonna sound like an idiot but for what cams are these, is it just for DVX?

Yeah.

I don't know, screen grabs might be bad, but oh well.

just fyi, framegrabs only show color. if you post a clip of a skateboarder, itll show how the framerate is, which would be even better
